Dear Church Family:

When you've got a decision to make, the first place to go is the Word of God. It's there that you'll find the moral will of God. First, make sure that your choices line up with it, and then you can move on down the road toward making a decision that is in the will of God. But ensuring your choices line up with God's moral will can seem a little daunting can't it? After all, what if you don't know every command in Scripture? Is there more to remember than the Ten Commandments? Less?

When you're trying to sift your choices through the moral will of God, remember that Jesus boiled down the entire moral will of God to two commandments, (1) Love God, and (2) Love people. That's pretty easy to remember, isn't it?

Your choices will either be (1) ruled out by God's moral will, (2) approved by His moral will, (3) or neutral in respect to His moral will. So, how do you decide between multiple choices which fall under points 2 and 3? You might be surprised at how simple it is! See you this Sunday!

By His grace,
Pastor Victor

MOPS of Hutchinson

What is MOPS?  MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers; it is a non-denominational Christian organization with the specific goal to meet the distinct needs of mothers of children under school age.  The first years of being a mother and raising young children can be especially challenging.  MOPS offers the opportunity for moms to have some valuable time away from their kids while learning from each other as well as from some "seasoned" moms.  Meetings involve speakers, crafts and discussions, which allow moms to share their faith at their comfort level.  Childcare is provided.

MOPS is a local organization which is part of MOPS International.  It is an outreach ministry for First Church of the Nazarene meeting every 1st and 3rd Friday of the month.  Spread the word!  We'd love to see you beginning September 17th from 9am to 11am.  For more information visit us on Facebook at Hutchinson MOPS or www.hutchmops.com.

Dear Church Family:

When you've got a decision to make and you want it to be in the will of God, where do you look for confirmation? Do you look for subjective means like feelings or circumstances? Do you try to hear a "still, small voice?" There is a more sure way of confirming God's will for your decisions and it begins with the Bible. You'll find the will of God in the Word of God!

There are two kinds of God's will outlined in the Bible; (1) his sovereign will, and (2) his moral will. God's sovereign will always comes to pass and is hidden from us until it happens. God's moral will is fully revealed to us in Scripture and can be obeyed by the believer. When you've got a decision to make, first and foremost, run your choices by the moral will of God. If your decision is in line there, you're well on your way to making decisions in the will of God!

But what do you do when you have multiple choices which are in line with God's moral will? Where do you go from there in figuring out which choice is God's will? Be here this Sunday for Part 3 of "Making Decisions in the Will of God."

Victor

Wednesday Evening Bible Study

Pastor Roger is beginning a new Bible study on Wednesday evenings.  The series entitled "The Beloved Book" is built on the theme of "Meeting Jesus Christ in the Gospel of John."  Please come and join us as we spend time each Wednesday evening at 7:00PM singing the great hymns of the faith - and sharing in fellowship our praises and prayer concerns.  We will all be blessed as the Holy Spirit leads us in this study to meet and understand our Lord and Savior Jesus more completely - and to walk closer each day with Him!  See you Wednesday!
